Lola already has 6 pennies, and she plans to save more. In her first week

Mathematics
1 answer:
raketka [301]2 years ago
6 0

Answer: P=6(2)^{w-1}

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, the money saved each week follows geometric progression with a common ratio r= 2 and first term a= 6.

In geometric progression, nth term  = ar^{n-1}

Substitute  r= 2 , a= 6 and n=w, we get

wth term = 6(2)^{w-1}

The equation can be used to determine the number of pennies, P, Lola will save during week w of saving pennies:

P=6(2)^{w-1}

A: 45x + 30y = 1350
Since we don’t know how many adults and children are in the group, we use x and y

b: x-intercept= 30 y-intercept=45
To find the x-intercept you need to isolate the variable. 45x/45 = x
Then you do the same thing to the other side. 1350/45 = 30
So x=30
Same thing with the y-intercept.
30y/30 = y 1350/30 = 45
y=45 (Not really sure what it means by “what they represent” but I thinks it’s that there are 30 adult tickets and 45 children tickets )

c: so our points are (30,0) and (0,45) so you would graph that.
To find how many children tickets were bought if there were 20 adult tickets just look at the photo I put. I don’t know how to explain this.

Hope this helps

PLASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION I GIVE YOU 18 POINTS
sukhopar [10]

Answer:

(a) 144

(b) 117

(c) 360

(d) 588

(e) 5472

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the LCM of two numbers, first find the prime factorization of each number. Then the LCM is the product of common and not common factors with the larger exponent.

2.

(a)

72 = 2^3 \times 3^2

144 = 2^4 \times 3^2

LCM = 2^4 \times 3^2 = 8 \times 9 = 144

(b)

39 = 3 \times 13

117 = 3^2 \times 13

LCM = 3^2 \times 13 = 117

(c)

72 = 2^3 \times 3^2

90 = 2 \times 3^2 \times 5

LCM = 2^3 \times 3^2 \times 5 = 360

(d)

84 = 2^2 \times 3 \times 7

147 = 3 \times 7^2

LCM = 2^2 \times 3 \times 7^2 = 588

(e)

152 = 2^3 \times 19

288 = 2^5 \times 3^2

LCM = 2^5 \times 3^2 \times 19 = 5472

Find parametric equations and symmetric equations for the line. (Use the parameter t.) The line through (4, −5, 2) and parallel
Nataliya [291]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given information, the symmetric equations for the line pass through(4, -5, 2) i.e (x_o, y_o, z_o) and are parallel to \dfrac{x+5}{1} = \dfrac{y}{2}= \dfrac{z-3}{1}

The parallel vector to the line i + zj+k = ai + bj + ck

Hence, the equation for the line is :

x = x_o + at \\ \\ x = y_o + bt \\ \\ x = z_o + ct

x = 4 + t

y = -5 + 2t

z = 2 + t

Thus, x, y, z = ( 4+t, -5+2t, 2+t )

The symmetric equation can now be as follows:

\begin  {vmatrix} x = 4+ t   \\ \\  \dfrac{x-4}{1} = t  \begin {vmatirx} \end {vmatrix}\begin {vmatrix} y = - 5+2t  \\ \\ \dfrac{y+5}{2}  =t      \end {vmatrix}\begin {vmatrix} z =2+t  \\ \\ \dfrac{z-2}{1}  =t      \end {vmatrix}

∴

\dfrac{x-4}{1}= \dfrac{y+5}{2}=\dfrac{z-2}{1}

One person is selected at random from a class of 20 males and 13 females. Find the odds against selecting a male and a female
spin [16.1K]

Answer:

Odds for male= 1.538

Odds for female =  0.65

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is asking for odds, not a probability. A probability shows how much the chance for the event to happen, so it can be expressed as a percentage. Odds show how the event more likely to happen compared to the chance it did not happen. If an event has a 90% probability, the odds will be 90:10= 9

In this case, the odds of selecting a male will be:

number of male : number of female= 20:13 = 1.538

The odds of selecting a female will be

number of female : number of male = 13/20 = 0.65
