Answer:

a rule to know: a median divides the side into equal parts.

we know:

PR = -2a + 34

SR = 2a + 26

- based on the rule, SR is half of PR. in other words, PR is two times greater than SR.

so,

2SR = PR (now simply pluggin the expressions we have)

2(2a + 26) = -2a + 34 (solve the equation like any other equation prob.)

4a + 52 = -2a + 34

6a + 52 = 34

6a = -18

a = -3

- inorder to check if this is correct, simply reverse what we did. so pluggin the value of a to see if its correct.

Simplify each expression.
MrRa [10]
1)B -26-27x
steps :distribute ,-9 times 3 =-27 , -9 times 3x = -27x , now combine like terms :you have a 1 and a -27 ,1-27=-26,and you left with -27

2)D 11-49x
steps :distribute , positive 7 times 1= 7 and then positive 7 times negative 7x =-49, now combine like terms ,since you have a positive 4 combine it with positive 7 which is 11 and finally put it together with -49x which it would look like 11-49x

Answer:

The numbers are 6 and 2

6 squared = 36

2 squared = 4

So 36-4 = 32

And 36 x 2 = 72 + 4 = 76

Tomato as a taste modifier. Miraculin—a protein naturally produced in a rare tropical fruit—has the potential to be an alternati
telo118 [61]

Answer:

a) 0.033

b) 0.468

c) 100

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Mean, μ = 105.3

Standard Deviation, σ = 8

The amount x of miraculin produced (measured in micro-grams per gram of fresh weight) had a normal distribution.

Formula:

z_{score} = \displaystyle\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

a) P(x > 120)

P( x > 120) = P( z > \displaystyle\frac{120 - 105.3}{8}) = P(z > 1.8375)

= 1 - P(z \leq 1.8375)

Calculation the value from standard normal z table, we have,

P(x > 120) = 1 - 0.967 = 0.033 = 3.3\%

b) P(x between 100 and 110)

P(100 \leq x \leq 110) = P(\displaystyle\frac{100 - 105.3}{8} \leq z \leq \displaystyle\frac{110-105.3}{8}) = P(-0.6625 \leq z \leq 0.5875)\\\\= P(z \leq 0.5875) - P(z \leq -0.6625)\\= 0.722 - 0.254 = 0.468 = 46.8\%

P(100 \leq x \leq 110) = 46.8\%

c) P(x < a) = 0.25

P( x \leq a) = P( z \leq \displaystyle\frac{a - 105.3}{8}) = 0.25

Calculation the value from standard normal z table, we have,

P( z \leq -0.674) = 0.25

\displaystyle\frac{x - 105.3}{8} = -0.674\\\\x = -0.674\times 8 + 105.3 = 99.908 \approx 100
