When a polar bond is formed between 2 atoms which atom receives a partial positive charge

Answer:

The less electronegative atom

Explanation:

Water contains polar bonds. Water is made up of oxygen and hydrogen. Oxygen is more electronegative then hydrogen so it is partial negative (because electron spend more time around oxygen in the polar bond), whereas, hydrogen has a partial positive charge as it is less electronegative (electrons spend less time around hydrogen in this polar bond).

irina [24]

Answer:

c. in a mixture of gases like air, the total pressure is the sum of the individual partial pressures of the gases in the mixture.

Explanation:

Dalton law is also known as Dalton's law of partial pressure. It simply explains that the total pressure exerted by a mixture of gases in a container is the sum of the individual gas pressure (partial pressure) exerted by each of the gases.

Hence, the correct option is C.

If 160 grams of a 200-gram sample of gold-198 decay in 6.25 days, what is the half-life of gold-198?
sergejj [24]

The half-life of gold-198 is 2.77 days

Given:

mass of gold sample = 200-gram

mass of decay sample = 160 grams

time taken to decay = 6.25 days

To Find:

the half-life of gold-198

Solution: The amount of time it takes to disintegrate by half an initial amount. For a given reaction, a reactant's half-life t1/2 is the time it takes for its concentration to reach a value which is the arithmetic mean of its initial and final (equilibrium) value.

Since Au-198 is 200 g originally and it decays to 160 g, so 40g left

the fraction decay is 40/200 = 0.2

the time base is 6.25 days

ln0.2/6.25 = -0.25

k=ln2/half life therefore half-life = ln2/k = ln2/0.25

half life = 2.77 days

So, half life of gold is 2.77 days

how is the arrangement of molecules in a dense object different than arrangement by molecule in a less dense object
solmaris [256]

Answer:

The molecules in a dense object are tightly packed together

Explanation:

This happens because the closer molecules are the denser the object is, however, if they get too close it can be a very disastrous result and the compound becomes very unstable. Hope I could help! :)
