Answer:

B)provide molecular or genetic information, as well as morphological information.

Explanation:

Systematics is the science of classification and phylogeny reconstruction. Studies diversity as a consequence of evolutive history and establishes the bases to reconstruct biological patterns and formulate hypotheses to explain the processes of these patterns. It reconstructs the origin and diversification of a taxon. Systematics creates systems of classification represented in a tree. Taxonomy is based on systematics.

The main goal of systematics is to solve the genealogical relationship between different species and biological groups that produces natural clusters.

Systematic considers morphological characters, as well as physiological, cytological, molecular, and behavioral characters.

Describe an environmental factor that could influence natural selection and decrease genetic diversity
pashok25 [27]

Answer:

Usually, Populations have a genetic variation among individuals, which is important to the population's ability to survive in different situations that have an effect on the natural selection. There are different factors which can increase or decrease the genetic diversity, and influencing natural selection.

These factors include an environmental factor, one of the major factors, which may cause changes in the genetic variation of a population and influence the natural selection. A famous and important example of environmental factors affecting natural selection was during the Industrial Revolution, when many more grey moths made up the moth population.

This was so that they could blend in with the soot from factories to avoid predators.

Edwin Hubble used the Doppler effect to determine that the universe is expanding. After years of scientific research and observation of different celestial bodies through a telescope, Hubble found that the light from distant galaxies was shifted towards the red end of the spectrum. This red shift indicates that stars are moving away from us and from each other. This phenomenon is called the 'expansion of the universe', also known as the big band theory.

placentals and marsupials are two groups of mammals. placentals are more closely related to each other than they are to any othe
NeX [460]

Due to convergent evolution placental mammals (Wolf) are closely related to marsupial wolves (Tasmanian wolf). No, the tree is wrong.

What is convergent evolution?

It is the presence of similar features in animals of different lineages. The structures in these animals have similar functions but are absent in the common ancestors hence they are analogous structures not homologous.

Such convergence of functional, morphological, and structural traits from phylogenetically unrelated species may be a result of random mutation due to selection pressure.

Here, the Tasmanian wolf (marsupial wolf) and wolf (placental mammal) have several morphological similarities but they have unrelated ancestral lineages. Hence they show convergent evolution. These two subclasses of mammals have adapted to a specific food source, locomotor ability, or environment in similar ways.

Hence, the placental wolf and Tasmanian wolf exist sharing the same habitat in different continents former in Asia and the latter in Australia because these two show convergent evolution.
