Mutual principle of live speech and written article is sending a message by using certain type of communication, however article is limited to only use words, while speech gives opportunities for using non-verbal communication. Having this basic principle in mind we see that making eye contact and using hand gestures is reserved to live speeches only. Using humor or specific words to inform the audience can be achieved in both ways.

Although punctuation can be used in articles to create intentional pauses , they are much more effective in live communication. Thus making it the benefit of a speech rather than an article.
