This brought about a series of events that led to the American Revolution of 1775 to 83'. The American colonists were paying much in taxes to the king and yet they felt they had no representative to this government in the parliament, despite the taxes they paid. The king tried to suppress the American colonists by the use of military force and violence. This led to tensions that finally escalated into war between both sides.
