Cell phone conversations are transmitted by high-frequency radio waves. Suppose the signal has wavelength 35 cm while traveling

through air. What are the
(a) frequency and
(b) wavelength as the signal travels through 3-mm-thick window glass into your room?

Answer:

(a) 8.57 x 10^8 Hz

(b) 23.3 cm

Explanation:

Wavelength = 35 cm = 0.35 m

speed =3 x10^8 m/s

Let the frequency is f.

(a) The relation is

speed = frequency x wavelength

3 x 10^8 = 0.35 x f

f = 8.57 x 10^8 Hz

(b) refractive index of glass is 1.5

The relation for the refractive index and the wavelength is

wavelength in glass= wavelength in air/ refractive index.

Wavelength in glass= 35/1.5 = 23.3 cm

What would the charge of an atom be if it has six protons and six electrons
disa [49]
Carbon atom showing 6 protons as electro positive charge in its nuclei should have same no of -ve charged electrons , that is 6 electronns in its radii to make an atom of C as a neutral element , for that each element in its atomic state should have equal no of protons and electrons , the no of neutrons which has no electric charge and almost negligible weight does play significant role except contributes to isotopes of the given atom or an element, so C atom having 6 protons should have 6 electrons

Explanation:

Law Of Conservation Of Linear Momentum

The total momentum of a system of bodies is conserved unless an external force is applied to it. The formula for the momentum of a body with mass m and velocity v is

P=mv.

If we have a system of bodies, then the total momentum is the sum of the individual momentums:

P=m_1v_1+m_2v_2+...+m_nv_n

If some collision occurs, the velocities change to v' and the final momentum is:

P'=m_1v'_1+m_2v'_2+...+m_nv'_n

In a system of two masses:

m_1v_1+m_2v_2=m_1v'_1+m_2v'_2

There are two objects: The m1=4000 Kg car and the m2=6000 Kg truck. The car was moving initially at v1=4 m/s and the truck was at rest v2=0. After the collision, the car moves at v1'=-1 m/s. We need to find the velocity of the truck v2'. Solving for v2':

\displaystyle v'_2=\frac{m_1v_1+m_2v_2-m_1v'_1}{m_2}

Substituting:

\displaystyle v'_2=\frac{4000*4+6000*0-4000(-1)}{6000}

\displaystyle v'_2=\frac{16000+4000}{6000}

\displaystyle v'_2=3.33

The velocity of the truck is 3.33 m/s

Explanation of principles of flotation
ss7ja [257]
When any boat displaces a weight of water equal to its own weight, it floats. This is called the "principle of flotation": A floating object displaces a weight of fluid equal to its own weight.
