HISTORICAL ALLUSION: The slang term "G-men"

Brief source description: The slang term G-men (short for "Government Man") has been used to describe government agents such as Secret Service agents and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents. Although they are generally held in high regard, there have been controversies surrounding them since the agencies were created. The FBI has investigated dissident militant and non-violent political organizations within the United States. There has been speculation whether the investigations had merit.
