A person came to work at 8:30 am, went out at 11:45 am, had lunch, came in at 12:30 pm, and left at 5:15 pm. How many hours did
Vlad1618 [11]
Hello!

The person started working at 8:30 and stopped at 11:45 for lunch. That means that person worked 1 hour and 15 minutes before taking a lunch break.

The lunch break doesn't count because the person wasn't "working" then.

Next, this person worked from 12:30 to 5:15, which means they worked 4 hours and 45 minutes.

Add this up with the 1 hour and 15 minutes from before:

4 h 45 min + 1 h 15 min = 6 hours

This person worked a total of 6 hours.
