1. The answer is; cell recognition protein

These types of proteins are categorized as a glycoprotein because they are proteins with a carbohydrate molecule attached to it. These proteins tag the cell and help the immune system to identify them so the cells are recognized and not destroyed.


2. The answer is; The nonpolar tails are repelled by water, so they position themselves in the middle of the bilayer. The polar heads are attracted to water, so they point outward.

Water is a polar molecule hence dissolves charged molecule which it can form hydrogen bonds with. Non-polar/uncharged molecule tend to be ‘water-hating’ hence form clumps when put in water and do not dissolve.  Amphipathic molecules such as phospholipids tend to form the bilipid layer with the polar heads on the outside interacting with water and the non-polar carbon chains sandwiched in between away from water.

The genetic equilibrium represents the condition of a genotype or an allele in the genetic pool of a particular population, where there are no changes in the frequency in the successive generations. This basically means that the population has managed to reach the peak of its evolution for the environment in which it leaves, so there's no evolutionary pressure for changes.

In order for the genetic equilibrium to be maintained for prolonged period of time, the population should not face any evolutionary pressure that will cause changes in it. In essence, this means that the environment in which the population lives should remain exactly the same as it is for longer period of time, so the population will have no need to change its appearance or behavior.

Homeostasis is the ability of an organism to stabilise its internal body metabolism in response to changes in the external environment. The ability to carry out homeostasis provides an organism a lot of freedom from the dependence on the external environment. For example, reptiles are cold blooded animals. They require the heat of the sun for body metabolism. But in the absence of heat or in case of harsh winters, the reptiles will not be able to adjust to the temperature and as a result perish. Mammals are warm-blooded animals, being able to regulate their internal body temperature as and when necessary. Winters will affect the warm-blooded animals less because their body will increase in metabolism in response to cold temperatures to raise the internal body temperature. This is possible only through homeostasis.
