A recent study indicated that 17 percent of adults in the country actively seek out science news sites to keep current on topics

in science. A university researcher believes that percent is too low. From a random sample of adults in the country, the researcher found that 22 percent of the sample actively seek out science news sites. Which of the following is the most appropriate method for the researcher’s study?
A) A two-sample z-test for a difference in population proportions
B) A two-sample z -test for a difference in population proportions
C) A one sample z-test for a difference in population proportions
D) A one sample z-test for a sample proportion

Answer:

E) A one sample z-test for a population proportion

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a significance test problem where there is only one sample. Therefore, it is a one sample z-test for a population proportion

> and < with the lines under it mean that they can also be equal to the constant on the other side (greater/less than or equal to)

So x <= 3 can be anything less than 3 and 3.

*the = in this inequality is the equivalent of a line

Now vice versa.

x => 3 can be anything greater than 3 and 3.

Now for the dots.

The open dots in signs are (< and >).

Basically they start at that point they are on but don't include it.

So an open dot at 3 pointing to the left means that the value is greater than 3 but does not include 3.

The closed dots in signs are (<= and =>).

They start at the point and include it.

So a closed dot a 3 pointing to the left means that the value is greater than 3 and includes 3.

Arrows.

Arrows pointing to the left mean that the values are getting bigger.

Arrows pointing to the right mean that the values are getting smaller.

ie : An arrow pointing to the left with a starting point at 3 = 3 and anything bigger, such as 4.

ie : An arrow pointing to the right with a starting point at 3 = 3 and anything smaller, such as 2.

Solve for problems.

The main concept is isolate the variable.

This basically means make the variable be lonely ^^

Use +, -, *, and /

Ex : 6x + 2 > 3

First, we would subtract 2 from both sides.

6x > 1

Then, we would divide each side by 6, leaving the x alone.

x > 1/6

And voila! x is anything greater than 1/6 but it does not include 1/6.

Hope this helps! ^^

Answer:

72\sqrt{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

The area (A) of a rhombus is calculated as

A = \frac{1}{2} × d₁ × d₂ (d₁ and d₂ are the diagonals )

The diagonals bisect each other at right angles

d₁ = 2 × 6 = 12

Use the tangent ration in the upper left right triangle and the exact value

tan60° = \sqrt{3}

tan60° = \frac{opposite}{adjacent} = \frac{opp}{6} = \sqrt{3} ( multiply both sides by 6 )

opp = 6\sqrt{3} , then

d₂ = 2 × 6\sqrt{3} = 12\sqrt{3}

Thus

A = \frac{1}{2} × 12 × 12\sqrt{3} = 6 × 12\sqrt{3} = 72\sqrt{3}

For a school play, Rico bought 3 adult tickets and 5 child tickets for $40. Sasha bought 1 adult ticket and 5 child tickets for
Serhud [2]

The cost of one adult ticket is $7.5 and one child ticket is $3.5

Julia will pay $48 for 5 adult tickets and 3 child tickets.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let,

Cost of one adult ticket = x

Cost of one child ticket = y

According to given statement;

3x+5y=40    Eqn 1

x+5y=25      Eqn 2

Subtracting Eqn 2 from Eqn 1

(3x+5y)-(x+5y)=40-25\\3x+5y-x-5y=15\\2x=15

Dividing both sides by 2

\frac{2x}{2}=\frac{15}{2}\\x=7.5

Putting x=2.5 in Eqn 1

3(7.5)+5y=40\\22.5+5y=40\\5y=40-22.5\\5y=17.5

Dividing both sides by 5

\frac{5y}{5}=\frac{17.5}{5}\\y=3.5

The cost of one adult ticket is $7.5 and one child ticket is $3.5

5 adult tickets = 5*7.5 = $37.5

3 child tickets = 3*3.5 = $10.5

Total = 37.5+10.5 =$48

Julia will pay $48 for 5 adult tickets and 3 child tickets.
