= 4 (6) - 4 (√2) + √2 (6) - √2 <span>√2
</span>= 24 - 4√2  + 6√2 - 2
= (24 - 2)  +  (- 4√2  + 6√2)
= 22 + √2(- 4 + 6)
= 22 + √2 (2)
= 22 + 2√2

Six times a number is greater than 20 more than that number. Which are the possible values of that number?
Neporo4naja [7]
I don't know how to make a 'greater than' sign.

6x is greater than x + 20
6x - x is greater than 20
5x is greater than 20
x is greater than 20 divided by 5
x is greater than 4

So, any number greater than 4 will work in this equation.

What is the measure of arc WXY
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

152°

Step-by-step explanation:

Let P be any point on tangent \overleftrightarrow{YZ} and WY is secant or chord of the \odot J .

\therefore m\angle WYZ + m\angle WYP = 180°\\(Straight \: line \: \angle 's) \\\therefore 104° + m\angle WYP = 180°\\\therefore  m\angle WYP = 180°- 104° \\\red{\boxed {\bold {\therefore  m\angle WYP = 76°}}} \\

NOW, by tangent secant theorem:

m\angle WYP =\frac{1}{2}\times m(\widehat{WXY}) \\\\76°=\frac{1}{2}\times m( \widehat{WXY}) \\\\76°\times 2 =m( \widehat{WXY}) \\\huge \purple {\boxed {\therefore m(\widehat{WXY}) = 152°}}

Write and solve an equation to find the value of x and a missing angle in the triangle below.
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

x = 27°, ∠JLK = 55°

Step-by-step explanation:

From the diagram in the question above,

The exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the two opposite side

3x+13 = 39+(2x+1)

3x+13 = 40+2x

collect like terms and solve for x

3x-2x = 40-13

x = 27°.

∠JKL = 2x+1

Substitute the value of x

∠JKL = 2(27)+1

∠JKL = 54+1

∠JKL = 55°

Suppose that the credit remaining on a phone card (in dollars) is a linear function of the total calling time (in minutes). When
Virty [35]

Answer:

Credit remaining after 21 minutes = $30.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Credit remaining on a phone card is a linear function of the total calling time.

When graphed, let the linear function representing the line is,

y = mx + b

Where 'm' = slope of the line

b = y-intercept

From the graph,

Slope of the line = -0.12

y = -0.12x + b

If this line passes through a point (33, 28.96),

28.96 = -0.12(33) + b

b = 28.96 + 3.96

b = 32.92

Therefore, the linear function is,

f(x) = -0.12x + 32.92

where x = calling time

Credit left in the card after 21 minutes,

f(21) = -0.12(21) + 32.92

      = -2.52 + 32.92

      = $30.4
