The missing side of the triangle is 12ft .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

First side = a = x

Second side = b = 9 ft

And third side = c = 15 ft

Solution :-

Pythagoras theorem

(Perpendicular) ²+(Base) ²= (hypotenuse) ²

substitute the value

➟ ( x ) ² + ( 9ft ) ² = ( 15 ft) ²

Multiplying the values

➟ x² + 81 ft ² = 225 ft ²

subtract the values

➟ x ² =225 ft ² - 81 ft²

➟ x ² = 144 ft²

finding square root of 144 ft

➟ x = √144 ft ²

➟ x = 12 ft

Hence , missing side of triangle is 12 ft .

Explain how you would graph the following set of parametric equations by plotting points and describing the orientation.
lyudmila [28]
Concept:

First eliminate the t from x=3t and then put it in y=t² and then graph it. As, limit of t is not restricted so t ∈ R(all real numbers)

As it is difficult to make graph here so I have solved it by hand and add all detail regarding it.

8.4.49 A cow is tethered to one corner of a square barn, 19 feet by 19 feet, with a rope 160 feet long. (See the illustration
SashulF [63]

Answer:

20096 ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

Length of rope=l=160 feet

Radius of quadrant of circle=r=160 feet

We have to find the maximum grazing area of the cow.

We know that

Area of quadrant of circle=\frac{1}{4}\pi r^2

Where \pi=3.14

Using the formula

Area grazed by cow=\frac{1}{4}\times 3.14(160)^2

Area grazed by cow=20096 ft^2
