Step-by-step explanation:

make the coefficients same

then if sign are same subtract the one you wanna cancel it then here it goes

lam gonna start making coefficient of x sam like this:

4.X+7y= -37

1.4X-3y=7

then i will subtract all x or cancel to each other then

4X+28y= -148

-

4X-3y=7

and then -×-=+

add all y

31y=141

y= 4.55 then we take one of the equation then substitute y to 4.55 so i chose first equation

X+7(4.55)=-37

X+31.85=-37

so take 31.85 to the side it will become -31.85

then X=-37-31.85

X=68.85

i hope that it will help you

A 27 1⁄2-mile stretch of road needs repaving. A company bid on the repaving project, saying they would repave 2 1⁄4 miles of roa
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

The correct answer is 12 and a half or 13 weeks.

Step-by-step explanation:

First, convert the values to decimals.

27 1/2 = 27.5

2 1/4 = 2.25

Then, divide miles of road that need to be repaved by the number of miles that are repaved per week.

27.5/2.25 = 12.2222222222222

Round that up to 12 and a half weeks or 13 weeks.

I need help with substitution
Neporo4naja [7]

Answer:

(-7,-15)

Step-by-step explanation:

We can substitute first y in the second y. Both equations are also functions. We can merge the equations.

2x - 1 = x - 8 \\ 2x - x = - 8 + 1 \\ x = - 7

Substitute x = -7 in any given equations. I will choose the second equation to substitute in.

y = x - 8 \\ y = - 7 - 8 \\ y = - 15

Answer Check

Substitute both x and y in both equations.

- 15 = 2( - 7) - 1 \\ - 15 = - 14 - 1 \\ - 15 = - 15

The equation is true for (-7,-15).

- 15 = - 7 - 8 \\ - 15 = - 15

The second equation is true for (-7,-15).

Therefore our answer is (-7,-15)
