The liver acts to keep blood glucose at a relatively constant level. It takes up glucose from the blood when levels are too high
postnew [5]
Yes, these actions are an example of homeostasis. To fully understand this question you need to know the basic concept of homeostasis. Homeostasis is the body's regulation. What do I mean by that? It's simple, when you have a fever your body's temperature can skyrocket to 100 or more, when you start to sweat or get the chills that's your body's way to cool you down and fight the infection. Another example; when you do any physical activity, you sweat from it depending on the intensity. If you didn't sweat you would probably overheat and that would lead to other complications. Basically when you do exercise you sweat because your body is warm and that's the homeostasis mechanism that helps cool down your body bring it to it's normal temperature. So in end answering your question in more detail by the liver regulating the body by taking glucose in when levels are too high or adding glucose in when levels are too low is an example of homeostasis because the body is regulating itself to come back to it's normal healthy function state.

Hope this helped :)

Why will a decrease in light intensity result in a decrease in the rate of photosynthesis?
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

3. A decrease in light intensity means a decrease in the energy required for photosynthesis to take place.

Explanation:

The greater the light intensity, the more energy supplied to the plant and therefore the faster the light-dependent stage of photosynthesis can occur.

classify the following characteristics and examples depending on what model of speciation is described.
kvasek [131]

The classification of the characteristics and examples based on the model of speciation that is being described are as follows:

 1. Allopatric Speciation: speciation that is based on geographic isolation.
 2. Sympatric Speciation: organisms are reproductively isolated by postzygotic mechanisms and evolve into different species.
 3. Allopatric Speciation: organisms in different locations are subject to different selective pressures and evolve into different species.
 4. Sympatric Speciation: speciation that does not require geographic isolation.
 5. Sympatric Speciation: bread wheat evolved from two species of wheat with different chromosome numbers.

What is speciation?

Speciation can be defined as an ecological and biological process through which new species of a living organism are formed, especially due to isolation of a part.

The types of speciation.

In Science, there are five (5) major types of speciation and these include the following:

 1. Allopatric Speciation
 2. Peripatric Speciation
 3. Parapatric Speciation
 4. Sympatric Speciation.
 5. Artificial Speciation.
