The following are products in the chemical reaction shown below.
scoundrel [369]

Answer:

C₆H₁₂O₆ and O₂

Explanation:

To know which option is correct, it important that we know the concepts of chemical equation .

A chemical equation gives us an expression of a chemical reaction in terms of symbols and formula. There are two sides to every equation. The side bearing the reactant and the side bearing the product.

The reactant is located on the left side and the product is located on the right side.

Reactant —> Product

With the above information, let us answer the question given above.

6CO₂ + 6H₂O —> C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂

The products are located on the right side of the equation.

Thus, the products of the reaction is C₆H₁₂O₆ and O₂

Can you please help me with this stoichiometry problem?
VMariaS [17]
Ah, stoichiometry. Have you ever done ratios before?

When you are given chemical reactions, all of the moles of reactant and product are proportional. This means that they're in ratio. Say we double the number of moles of water to 12 moles. How many moles do you think C2H6 will have? It'd be 4 moles, since just like water it was doubled since they're in proportion.

You can also think about that example above like a literal ratio. Since the original ratio is 2:6, it then turns into n:12, with n being the unknown number of moles of C2H6. Since ratios we know that ratios are always equal can be converted to fraction:

2/6 = n/12
Cross multiply:
24 = 6n
n = 4 moles

Makes sense? On to the actual question.

We're looking at the proportion between oxygen and carbon dioxide. Let's write that into a ratio:

7:4

Since there are seven moles of oxygen and four moles of carbon dioxide.

The number of moles of carbon dioxide is reduced to 1 mole. You could simply divide seven by 4 to find your answer (Since 4 was divided by 4 to make 1), but let's use the ratio method just in case questions in the future aren't this convenient:

7:4 becomes n:1

Convert to fraction:
7/4 = n/1

Cross multiply;
7 = 4n

Divide:
n = 7/4

Convert to decimal:
n = 1.75

The answer is Option C, 1.75 moles.

Let me know if you want me to explain anything I did here.
Good luck!

In a commercial chemical cold pack, an inner pouch containing water is broken and the water is allowed to mix with a sample of s
yulyashka [42]

Answer: Positive, positive

Explanation:

Entropy is the measure of randomness or disorder of a system. If a system moves from  an ordered arrangement to a disordered arrangement, the entropy is said to decrease and vice versa.

\Delta S is positive when randomness increases and \Delta S is negative when randomness decreases.

Exothermic reactions are defined as the reactions in which energy is released in the form of heat and \Delta H for the reaction comes out to be negative.

Endothermic reactions are defined as the reactions in which energy is absorbed in the form of heat and \Delta H for the reaction comes out to be positive.

For a cold pack, the energy has to be absorbed for the dissolution of ammonium nitrate in water so that the surroundings feel cold.Thus as energy is absorbed, \Delta H for the reaction comes out to be positive.

The solid form of ammonium nitrate is getting converted to ions and thus entropy increases and thus \Delta S for the reaction comes out to be positive.
