First simplify the ewuations

2x+6y=18
divide by 2
x+3y=9

3x+9y=27
divide by 3
x+3y=9

since x+3y=9 and x+3y=9 are the same, there are infinite solutions because they are the same equation and they are equations  of lines which extend infinietley

Which is the graph of f(x) = 100(0.7)x?
julia-pushkina [17]
I'm assuming the function is f(x) = 100(0.7)^x. This is the same as y = 100(0.7)^x because y = f(x).

Plug in x = 0 to get
y = 100(0.7)^x
y = 100(0.7)^0
y = 100(1)
y = 100
So (x,y) = (0,100) is one point on this function curve

Plug in x = 2 to get
y = 100(0.7)^x
y = 100(0.7)^2
y = 100(0.49)
y = 49
So (x,y) = (2,49) is another point on this curve

In summary, the two points on this function curve are (0,100) and (2,49)

Find the height of a cylinder with a surface area of 108 pi square meters. The radius of the cylinder is twice the height.
myrzilka [38]
Let
x---------> radius of the cylinder
y---------> the height of the cylinder

we know that
x=2y
[surface area of cylinder]=2*[pi*r²]+2*pi*r*h
surface area=108*pi m²
r=x
h=y
x=2y
108*pi=2*[pi*(2y)²]+2*pi*(2y)*y
108*pi=8*pi*y²+4*pi*y²
108*pi=12*pi*y²
y²=108/12
y²=9----------> y=√9--------> y=3 m
x=2y-------> x=2*3-----> x=6 m

the answer is
the height of the cylinder is 3 m

2+d=2-3(d-5)-2 Pls show work
defon
2 + d = 2 - 3(d- 5) - 2

First, cancel 2 on both sides. / Your problem should look like: d = -3(d - 5) - 2
Second, expand. / Your problem should look like: d = -3d + 15 - 2
Third, simplify -3d + 15 - 2 to get -3d + 13. / Your problem should look like: d = -3d + 13
Fourth, add 3d to both sides. / Your problem should look like: d + 3d = 13
Fifth, add d + 3d to get 4d. / Your problem should look like: 4d = 13
Sixth, divide both sides by 4. / Your problem should look like: d =  \frac{13}{4}

Answer as fraction: d =  \frac{13}{4}
Answer as decimal: d = 3.25
