Does anyone have a really good DBA review for segement 1 science module 1
DanielleElmas [232]

Yeah I got you.

Motion 1. Student will demonstrate an understanding of Newton’s Laws to one of three real-life situations.

In car driving forward book falls out of seat

Catching a basket ball

Bowlinig ball+pins

Motion 2. Student will demonstrate an understanding of motion, forces, and energy by using lab data to differentiate among the various forms of energy, describing the relationship between work and power, and by constructing a machine that identifies types of energy used and how energy is transformed from one form to another.

Runni ng walking

Explain in terms of frame of reference if you’re inside a moving train everything on the outside can seem to be moving.

frame of reference is a place or object that you assume is fixed.

Inside the train, train is reference point and eveything outside is looks in motion

What are Newton’s three laws of motion?

Inertia

f=ma

Every action has an opposite and eqal reaction

If you’re in a car moving at a high speed, and you stop abruptly, how would what happens be different with wearing a seatbelt as opposed to not wearing a seat belt? Which of Newton’s 3 laws would apply?

1st law inertia because when you stop apprulty your body wants to move forward but the seat belt stops you from doing so, without it you would fly forward and get hurt

What’s force? What’s the strongest of the four basic forces? What’s the weakest?

gravity is the weakest of the four fundamental forces. Ordered from strongest to weakest, the forces are 1) the strong nuclear force, 2) the electromagnetic force, 3) the weak nuclear force, and 4) gravity

Use the example of a tug of war to explain the difference between balanced and unbalanced forces.

Balanded both are pulling eqaul forced and rope isnt moving

Unbalnced is one side is larger and rope is pulling

Using the Rube Goldberg device from the lesson or the one you designed, discuss the Law of Conservation of energy and give an example of energy transfer.

books faling into boucket

all of the energy available at the start of a conversion or transfer still exists in some form of energy after the change is complete.

Scioors cutting string

Ball falling

Using the equation for work, if you push on a wall as hard as you can, have you done any work?

No, the wall is not moving

Use the relationship between work and power to discuss the amount of work done when a weight lifter lifts 25 lbs 1 m in 1 s and another lifts the same weight 1m in 2 seconds.

What is the "downside" to extensive use of synthesized nitrogen-containing fertilizers?
Ostrovityanka [42]
There are several "downsides" to extensive use of synthesized nitrogen-containing fertilizers; it contributes to algal blooms and dead zones in bodies of water, nitrogen is usually considered as a highly effective and economical fertilizer. However, the repeated use of the chemical can cause an imbalance in the pH of the soil, eventually leaving it unusable for growth of any kind.

Can a species diversity increase or decrease after a fire on a grassland
Fantom [35]
Species diversity refers to the number of different species in a community or ecosystem. So for example if you have an ecosystem and there are all different areas of that system like water, trees, and ground levels. obviously monkeys do not live in the water so, if you were to affect the water it would more than likely not affect the monkeys directly even though that water IS part of their ecosystem, but it will affect the other animals, living in that water. so if you were to take out a species in that water you are taking away a part of that ecosystem that makes it diverse. To answer your question, yes the species diversity can decrease after a fire on a grassland.
