Answer:

HNO3 and NaOH

Explanation:

A neutralization reaction is a reaction that occurs between an acid and a base to form salt and water only.

Neutralization reactions are commonly carried out by method of titration. That is, a measured volume of acid of unknown concentration is made to react with a known volume of standard base solution or vice versa.

Two reactants that could be titrated to obtain sodium nitrate are nitric acid and sodium hydroxide.

The reaction equation is as follows;

HNO3(aq) + NaOH(aq) ----> NaNO3(aq) + H2O

In your reaction you started with a solution that was approximately 8 M acetic acid and 4 M isopentyl alcohol. Use the equilibri
V125BC [204]

The final concentrations of water, isopentyl acetate, isopentyl alcohol, and acetic acid obtained on using equilibrium expression are 3.4M, 3.4M, 0.6M , 4.6M

Using ICE table:-

      Acetic acid  +  Isopentyl alcohol   ------>    Isopentyl acetate +  water

I         8M                   4M                                           0                           0

C        8-x                   4-x                                          +x                          +x

E        8-x                   4-x                                          +x                          +x

Equilibrium constant (Keq) = 4.2

On using the equilibrium expression -

Keq = [Product] / [Reactant]

Keq = x^2 / (8-x) (4-x )

4.2  =  x^2 / 32 - 8x - 4x + x^2

    x =  3.4

Concentration of acetic acid  = 8-x = 8-3.4 = 4.6M

Concentration of isopentyl alcohol = 4-x = 4-3.4 = 0.6M

Concentration of isopentyl acetate = x = 3.4M

Concentration of water = x = 3.4M

What distinguishes a substance from a mixture?
wariber [46]
A mixture consists of numerous substances, whereas a substance does not consist of mixtures, but rather of compounds. Mixtures can be separated physically, while substances cannot.

On a graph, which type of line shows a direct proportion? A. upwardly curved line B. downwardly curved line C. straight line D.j
siniylev [52]
A straight line shows a direct proportion because each x-value has one y-value, and there is a correlation between the two values, not just random placement. Hope this helps! :)

Once the concentration of the common ion is increased: Select the correct answer below: the solubility of the ionic solid increa
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

the solubility of the ionic solid decreases

Explanation:

If a salt MX is added to an aqueous solution containing the solute AX, the X^- ion is common to both of the salts. The presence of X^- in the solution will suppress the dissolution of AX compared to the solubility of AX in pure water. This observation is known as common ion effect in chemistry.

The origin of common ion effect is based on Le Chatelier's principle. The addition of a solute will drive the equilibrium position towards the left hand side.
