Which phrase listed below best describes the function of the digestive system?

Biology

C is the correct answer. The main function of the digestive system is to break down food into nutrients.

Food is needed to fuel the body for energy, and also for growth and repair. The digestive system converts the food we eat into their simplest forms , like glucose, amino acids and fatty acids. The broken down food is then absorbed into the bloodstream from the small intestine and the nutrients are carried to each cell of the body.

The large intestine  serves as a storage organ for the excretory products. However though this is true, the main function of the digestive system is to break down food into nutrients. The excretory duty is more of a necessity rather than a primary function.<span /><span /><span /><span />

What is the end result of cytokinesis from a cell undergoing mitosis?
IRINA_888 [86]

The end result of cytokinesis indicates the two cells with identical copies of DNA arise from a single parental cell.

<h3>What is Cytokinesis?</h3>

Cytokinesis may be defined as the process of separation of the cytoplasm at the end of mitosis.

Cytokinesis is the phase of mitosis which involves the overall division of cytoplasm and the construction of two copies of cells with identical DNA content.

It occurs after the process of karyokinesis, which results in the formation of two daughter cells from a single parental cell.

Therefore, it is well described above.

3) Farmer Brown grows corn for a living. One day, Farmer Green suggests to Farmer Brown that he should clone his best corn plant
Elden [556K]
The answer is C) Cloning eliminates the ability to sexually reproduce and provide genetic variability.
In the future, there is no variability in the genes in the clones given that they are the exact copies of the "parent" produce. All should be identical without differences and variations. Although Farmer Brown doesn't want this to happen that's is what he is reluctant to listen to Farmer Green's advice.
