To prevent the spread of European ideas and culture in China
B) how the colonists could hold the hill
One of the main reasons why union membership declined during the 1920s is because the Great Depression hit, which laid off many people from there jobs and therefore made unions worthless for many.
The French Revolution (1789 - 1799) was a social and political conflict with a variety of violence periods. The Taiping Rebellion (1850 - 1864) was a civil war with social and religious implications in China.
These two events brought some change into their communities by shaping the society on means of political and social reforms. Some of the outcomes of these events are the following:
- While the French Revolution started a domino effect of revolution, The Taiping Rebellion caused many brutal genocides. After the French revolution occurred many French men (even Haitians slaves) were freed and considered equal under the law and while it happened a cascade of revolutions were being prepared. The Taiping Rebellion lead to one of the biggest genocides in history.
- The French Revolution lead to the spread of enlightenment ideas around Europe, it was the fact that the revolutionaries ideas spread around the continent. The Taiping Rebellion left many fertile lands destroyed as well as it inspired many revolutionaries.
Even though horrible things happened after and during the revolution and rebellion, each of these societies found their success in different ways.
