Eventually her screams and cries began to wear down the Jews in the car. She was bound, gagged, and hit over the head. After she calmed down, people seemed to ignore her. At night she would begin screaming and yelling again. People gave up trying to calm her and hit her to make her quiet. During their time in the train car, they have lost their compassion for her and have begun to act violently.
