Answer:

As time progressed, to reach the tops of trees to eat their leaves, the giraffe's necks grew longer. Those without long necks could not reach the leaves and began to die off. This allowed only giraffes with long necks to survive. Eventually, their necks grew to the length they are now.

Hope this helps!

The accepted theory of giraffe evolution is that the longest-neck giraffes have been passed on to their genes by natural selection and the animal that we see now takes millions of years.

Which study led biologists to infer that the ancient archosaur was active during the night? ancestral state reconstruction sugge
MrRissso [65]
The correct option is this: ANCESTRAL STATE RECONSTRUCTION SUGGESTING THAT THESE ANIMALS HAD OPSINS THAT WERE SHIFTED TOWARD THE RED.
Ancestral reconstruction is the extrapolation back in time from measured characteristics of individuals to their common ancestors. Opsins are a group of light sensitive proteins that are located in the photoreceptor cells of the retina of the eyes. Having opsin that were shifted toward the red colour will enable the animal to see very well in the night time, thus, the animal will be active during that period.
