Indicators change its color according to the pH of the solution. They shows different colors when the medium is basic and acidic.

Indicator                   pH range             Acidic color                   Basic color
Methyl orange           3.1 - 4.4                 red                                  yellow
Phenolphthalein        8.2 - 10.0               colorless                         pink

If one iron nail weighs 2.0 grams, what would be the mass of 6.022 x 10^23 nails?
Maru [420]

Answer:

1.2x10^{24}g

Explanation:

Hello!

In this case, it is possible to treat this problem by using a proportional factor which indicates one iron nail equals 2.0 grams:

\frac{2.00g}{1nail}

Now, for an amount of 6.022x10²³ nails, the corresponding mass will be:

6.022x10^{23}nail*\frac{2.00g}{1nail} \\\\1.2x10^{24}g

Best regards!

The following equilibrium constants have been determined for hydrosulfuric acid at 25ºC:
yaroslaw [1]

hey there!:

H2S(aq) <=> H⁺(aq) + HS⁻(aq)

K'c = [H⁺][HS⁻]/[H₂S] = 9.5*10⁻⁸

HS⁻(aq) <=> H⁺(aq) + S²⁻(aq)

K"c = [H⁺][S²⁻]/[HS⁻] = 1.0*10⁻¹⁹

H₂S(aq) <=> 2 H⁺(aq) + S²⁻(aq)

Kc = [H⁺]²[S²⁻] / [H₂S]

= [H+][HS⁻] / [H₂S] * [H⁺][S²⁻]/[HS⁻]

= K'c *K"c

= ( 9.5*10⁻⁸ ) * ( 1.0 x 10⁻¹⁹ )

= 9.5*10⁻²⁷

Hope this helps!
