Which sentence uses a colon correctly?

English
1 answer:
polet [3.4K]3 years ago

The correct answer is,

"For their honeymoon they went to the following places: Florida, St. Lucia, and the Bahamas."

The part that comes before a colon must be a complete sentence. A good tip is to read the first part and if it sounds normal without the second part, it is correct. So if you simply wrote the phrase "The ingredients I need to make salsa are." as a sentence, it would not make sense.

The ghost of Banquo sits in Macbeth’s seat, but only Macbeth can see him. Are we to believe Banquo’s ghost is there or that Macb
mrs_skeptik [129]

Banquo's ghost appears in act 3, scene 4, and sits down in Macbeth's place. The fact that Banquo's ghost chooses to sit in the king's seat is significant because it foreshadows how Banquo's descendants will inherit the throne, as the witches predicted.
