Answer: it means that 5 is multiplied by itself 6 times: 5^{6} =5*5*5*5*5*5=15625

<em>1. 2.</em> 4*4=4^{2}=16

The power is 2 or square, notice how the geometric model is made out of dots forming a flat square.

<em>1. 3.</em> 2*2*2*2=2^{3} =8

The power is 3 or cube, notice how the geometric model is a cube.

<em>1. 4.</em> 9*9=9^{2}=81

The power is 2 or square, notice how the geometric model is a flat square.

<em>2. 5.</em> 7^{2} =49

<em>2. 6.</em> (-2)^{4} = -2*-2*-2*-2=4*4=16

<em>2. 7.</em> (-2)^{5} =16*-2=-32

<em>2. 8.</em> -(\frac{1}{2})^{4}=-(\frac{1^{4} }{2^{4}})=-(\frac{1}{16})=-\frac{1}{6}

<em>3. 9. </em>81=9^{x}, \frac{81}{9} = 9,9*9=9^{2}

<em>3. 10. </em>100000=10^{x} , \frac{100000}{10} =10000, \frac{10000}{10}=1000, \frac{1000}{10}=100, \frac{100}{10}=10,<em></em>

<em>          </em>10*10*10*10*10=10^{5}<em></em>

<em>3. 11. </em>-64 = -4^{x}, \frac{-64}{-4}=16, \frac{16}{-4}=-4, -4*-4*-4=-4^{3}<em></em>

<em>3. 12. </em>10 = 10^{x}, \frac{10}{10}=1, 10*1=10 =10^{1}<em></em>

<em>3. 13. </em>81 =3^{x}, \frac{81}{3}= 27,\frac{27}{3}=9, \frac{9}{3}=3,  3*3*3*3=3^{4}<em></em>

<em>3. 14. </em>36=-6^{x} , \frac{36}{-6}= -6, -6*-6=(-6)^{2}<em></em>

<em>4. 15. Technology </em>First week => 3 hits, every week => the number of hits triples, means 3^{3}, 5th week => hits every week * 5 = 3^{3}*5=27*5=135 hits.

Answer:

EF=3.6

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm going to use Pythagorean Theorem for side EF.

4.8^2+EF^2=6^2

23.04+EF^2=36

-23.04 -23.04

EF^2=12.96

A store adverstises buy one item at full price and take 1/2 off the cost of a second item. Steve buys one item with a price tag
Nitella [24]

Answer:

(D) 20%

Step-by-step explanation:

The original price of the two items = $60 + $40 = $100

The discounted price of the two items = $60 + ($40 x 0.5) = $60 + $20 = $80

To find the percent discount he received off his total purchase, we need to divide the difference between the original price and the discounted price by the original price.

$100 - $80 = $20

$20 ÷ $100 = 0.2

0.2 = 20%

~Hope this Helps!~
