Given:

The function is:

f(x)=-(x+5)(x+1)

To find:

The range of the function.

Solution:

We have,

f(x)=-(x+5)(x+1)

It can be written as:

f(x)=-(x^2+x+5x+5)

f(x)=-(x^2+6x+5)

Add and subtract square of half of coefficient of x, i.e., \left(\dfrac{6}{2}\right)^2=9.

f(x)=-(x^2+6x+9-9+5)

f(x)=-(x^2+2(x)(3)+3^2-4)

f(x)=-(x^2+2(x)(3)+3^2)+4

f(x)=-(x+3)^2+4

On comparing this equation with f(x)=a(x-h)^2+k, we get

a=-1, it means the graph of the function is a downward parabola and the vertex is the point of maxima.

h=-3

k=4

The vertex of the function is (-3,4). So, the value of the function cannot be greater than 4.

Therefore, the range of the function is all real numbers less than or equal to 4.

Note: All options are incorrect.

Solve for y.
Alexeev081 [22]

Answer:

y = 18

Step-by-step explanation:

3.23(y – 18) - 19.17 = -19.17

3.23y - 18 x 3.23 = -19.17 + 19.17

3.23y - 58.14 = 0

3.23y = 58.14

3.23y/3.23 = 58.14/3.23

y = 18

If the line passing through the points (a, 1) and (−2, 6) is parallel to the line passing through the points (−12, 9) and (a + 2
iren2701 [21]

\frac{6 - 1}{ - 2 - a}  =  \frac{9 - 1}{ - 12 - a - 2}  \\  \frac{5}{ - 2 - a}  =  \frac{8}{ - 14 - a}  \\ 16 + 8a = 70 + 5a \\ 3a = 54 >  > a = 18

Izracunaj opseg i povrsinu kruga upisanog u kvadrat stranice duljine 8 cm.
Nutka1998 [239]
(In English), your question would state the following:

<span>Calculate the circumference and circumference of the circle entered in a square 8 cm long.
</span>
So when finding the answer this this question, we know that the circumference would be the complete area of a circle.

So, I believe we would want to find what is the radius and the diameter that would make this circumference 8^c^m.

The radius would then be (1.274).
__________________________________________________________

Now in your own language (Croatian).

HELP ASAP 10 POINTS TO BRAINLIEST
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

15%

Step-by-step explanation:

The cost of 2 adults and 2 children without the discount is

2 adults = 2 (55) = 110

2 children = 2 (45) = 90

Total cost = 110+90 = 200

The original price is 200 and the new price is 170

Percentage discount = (Original price - new price)/ original price * 100%

                                     = (200-170)/200 * 100%

                                     = 30/200 * 100%

                                     = .15 * 100%

                                     = 15%
