Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Calculate the values of y by substituting the values of x into y = - 6x + 2

x = - 5 → y = - 6(- 5) + 2 = 30 + 2 = 32

x = - 1 → y = - 6(- 1) + 2 = 6 + 2 = 8

x = 0 → y = - 6(0) + 2 = 0 + 2 = 2

x = 1 → y = - 6(1) + 2 = - 6 + 2 = - 4

Thus

  x      y

 - 5    32

 - 1       8

   0      2

    1      - 4

Answer:

32

8

2

-4

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is asking you to fill in the table for each value of x. That might sound a little confusing at first... but it's simpler than you think.

The equation y = -6x + 2 is important for the entire problem. What the equation means... is that (-6 times x) + 2 equals y. What does that mean? Let's take a look.

In this equation, x and y are variables. That means that they can be any number... for now they are just holding the place of any number. For example... x + 2 = 4. In this equation... x has to be 2. The same idea is being applied here.

If you want to find what "y" is equal to... you have to replace "x" with the number that the table gives you.

For example... the table asks us to find "y" when "x" is -5.

y = -6 (-5) + 2

y = 30 + 2

y = 32

(It's important to remember that if you multiply two negative numbers... you get a positive product.)

Repeat this process for all of the other values they ask for "x" to get an answer for "y"

I hope this helped :) If not, I'll try and help some more!
