Okay so for each bracelet we know that the 18 beads PLUS the unknown (b)<span></span>amount of glass beads, TIMES the 14 friends, we can write out the equation.
14 · 18 + b
Now, using 4 for b and using the order of operations (PEMDAS), let's solve the equation.
14 · 18 + 4 256
That answer does seem reasonable, but we only added 4 beads, instead of 4 beads PER BRACELET. So, we can fix our equation by putting 18 + b in parentheses.
The answer is 14 · (18 + b) :)
