Two numbers total 31 and have a difference of 11. Find the two numbers

Answer:

let 2 no. be x and y

x+y=31 ..... (1)

x-y=11 .........(2)

from (1)

x=31-y ..........(3)

putting (3) in (2)

31-y-y=11

-2y=11-31

-2y=-20

2y=20

y=10
