y-int: 140

slope: -4

to find the slope u gotta use the (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) formula

120-140 = -20

5-0 = 5

-20/5 = -4

Dale has 2000 dollars to invest. He has a goal to have 5800 in this invest ment in 9 years. At what annual rate compounded conti
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

Answer:

Dale will reach his goal at an annual rate of 11.83%.

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for continuos compounding is given by:

A(t) = Pe^{rt}

In which A is the amount after t years, P is the principal(initial amount) and r is the annual rate.

Dale has 2000 dollars to invest.

This means that P = 2000

He has a goal to have 5800 in this invest ment in 9 years.

So A(9) = 5800

At what annual rate compounded continuously will Dale reach his goal?

This is r.

A(t) = Pe^{rt}

5800 = 2000e^{9r}

e^{9r} = \frac{58}{20}

e^{9r} = 2.9

\ln{e^{9r}} = \ln{2.9}

9r = \ln{2.9}

r = \frac{\ln{2.9}}{9}

r = 0.1183

Dale will reach his goal at an annual rate of 11.83%.

In an agricultural study, the average amount of corn yield is normally distributed with a mean of 185.2 bushels of corn per acre
RideAnS [48]

Answer: B. 461 acres

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : In an agricultural study, the average amount of corn yield is normally distributed with a mean of 185.2 bushels of corn per acre, with a standard deviation of 23.5 bushels of corn.

i.e. \mu=185.2\ \ , \ \sigma=23.5

Let x denotes the amount of corn yield.

Now, the probability that the amount of corn yield is more than 190 bushels of corn per acre.

P(x>190)=P(\dfrac{x-\mu}{\sigma}>\dfrac{190-185.2}{23.5})

[Formula : z=\dfrac{x-\mu}{\sigma}]

=P(z>0.2043)=1-P(z  [∵ P(Z>z)=1-P(Z<z)]

1-0.5809405   [using z-value calculator or table]

=0.4190595

Now, If a study included 1100 acres then the expected number to yield more than 190 bushels of corn per acre :-

0.4190595\times1100=460.96545\approx461\text{ acres}

hence, the correct answer is B. 461 acres .

A football stadium holds 52,000 fans. A college student is doing research and determines that on any given game day, the home te
docker41 [41]
This problem is asking us to make an algebraic equation or representation of the situation. First we have to assign the variables which is already given in the problem. H is the number of the home team and V is the visiting team. Since the problem states there are the home team has five times as manyfans as the visiting team, then it can be represented as:

H = 5V
Also, H + V = 52,000. H and V can then be solves by solving the 2 equations simultaneously. The results are 43,333 and 8,667.

The final cost of a sale item is determined by multiplying the price on the tag by 75%. Which best describes the function that r
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

Option A) is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

The final cost of a sale item is determined by multiplying the price on the tag by 75%.

So. if the final cost is represented by $F and the price on the tag is $t, then the relation between  F and t will be

F = 0.75t.

This relation is linear since the ratio of the change in the final cost compared to the rate of change in the price tag is constant.

Therefore, option A) is correct. (Answer)
