Answer:

Depreciation: $4,000.00

Variable costs : $914.81

Explanation:

The value of the car when new = $19,860.00

Values after two years =$11,860.00

Accumulated depreciation for two years

= $19,860.00 - $11,860.00

=$8,000.00

Assuming straight depreciation method, depreciation each of the two years

=$8,000.00/2

=$4,000.00

Variable costs are the cost that changes with usages. In this case, variable costs are gas and oil, lube, and miscellaneous.

Variable costs =  $845.96 +  $68.85

Variable costs =  $914.81

If costs are 85% of sales (and profit is 15%), what is the amount of extra sales needed to equal $1,200 in profit from purchasin
attashe74 [19]

Answer:

$8,000

Explanation:

Given that

Profit = $1,200

Cost = 85% of sales

Profit = 15%

We know that

Sales = Cost + Profit

         = 85% + 15%

         = 100%

So sales percentage is 100%

Now we use the unitary method to find out the extra sales which would be

= Profit × sales percentage ÷ profit percentage

= $1,200 × 100% ÷ 15%

= $8,000

Answer:

The answer is "4200"

Explanation:

Please find the complete question in the attached file:

Calculating the variable cost in km:

= \frac{(105,000 \times 0.114 - 70,000 \times 0.134)}{(35,000)} \\\\ = \frac{(11,970 - 9,380)}{(35,000)} \\\\ = \frac{2,590}{(35,000)} \\\\ =0.074

Calculating the fixed cost:

= (105,000 \times 0.114) - (105,000 \times 0.074) \\\\ = (11,970) - (7,770) \\\\=4,200

1. Explain the concept of opportunity cost with an appropriate example.<br>
inn [45]

Answer:

Concept & example of Opportunity Cost

Explanation:

Opportunity Cost is the cost of next best alternative foregone, while choosing an alternative. This arises because of 'choice' problem, due to unlimited wants & limited resources - having alternative uses.

Eg : If I can have 2 chapatis or a bowl of rice. And, I eat a bowl of rice. Then, 'opportunity cost' of a rice bowl is - the next best available '2 chapattis' foregone for the former.

Paula Boothe, president of the Armange Corporation, has mandated a minimum 10% return on investment for any project undertaken b
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:

Residual income= $36,000

Explanation:

Residual income is the income that is generated in excess of the minimum required rate of return, which in this case is 10%. Any income above 10% return is considered as residual income. In this case the investment is 1,800,000 and 10% of that is 180,000 (0.1*1,800,000). So any income made above $180,000 will be residual income. In order to find the residual income we subtract the minimum income required from the actual income.

In this case the minimum income required is 180,000 and the actual operating income is 216,000 so residual income=

216,000-180,000= $36,000

Lewelling Company issued 101,000 shares of its $1 par common stock to the Michael Morgan law firm as compensation for 4,100 hour
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

Paid in capital excess of par is $$309,000

Explanation:

<u>Journal Entries</u>

Debt: Legal services (4,100 hours × $100 per hour)  = $410,000

Credit: Common stock (101,000 shares × $1 par)  = $101,000

Credit: Paid-in capital - excess of par (Remainder)  = $309,000

To record the 101,000 shares compensated by 4,100 legal hours with $1 par value)

In the above transaction common stock issued in excess of par for legal services as compensation instead cash. Hence "legal services" have been debited as issuing company benefited for legal services. "Common stock" and "paid in capital in excess of par" has been credited as this issuing company issuing common stock.

Paid in capital excess of par is $$309,000
