Is RS perpendicular to DF? Select Yes or No for each statement. R (6, −2), S (−1, 8), D (−1, 11), and F (11 ,4) R (1, 3), S (4,7

), D (3, 9), and F (15, 0) R (−5, −5), S (0, 2), D (8, 3), and F (1, 8)

I'll do the first one to get you started.

Find the slope of the line between R (6,-2) and S (-1,8) to get

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m = (8-(-2))/(-1-6)

m = (8+2)/(-1-6)

m = 10/(-7)

m = -10/7

The slope of line RS is -10/7

Next, we find the slope of line DF

m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

m = (4-11)/(11-(-1))

m = (4-11)/(11+1)

m = -7/12

From here, we multiply the two slope values

(slope of RS)*(slope of DF) = (-10/7)*(-7/12)

(slope of RS)*(slope of DF) = (-10*(-7))/(7*12)

(slope of RS)*(slope of DF) = 10/12

(slope of RS)*(slope of DF) = 5/6

Because the result is not -1, this means we do not have perpendicular lines here. Any pair of perpendicular lines always has their slopes multiply to -1. This is assuming neither line is vertical.

I'll let you do the two other ones. Let me know what you get so I can check your work.

Suppose sin(A)=-0.78. use the trig identity sin^2(A)+cos^2(A)=1 and the trig identity tan(A) = sin(A)/cos(A) to find tan(A) in q
Paladinen [302]

In quadrant IV, \cos(A) is positive. So

\sin^2(A) + \cos^2(A) = 1 \implies \cos(A) = \sqrt{1-\sin^2(A)} \approx 0.6258

Then by the definition of tangent,

\tan(A) = \dfrac{\sin(A)}{\cos(A)} \approx \dfrac{-0.78}{0.6258} \approx \boxed{-1.2465}

Please provide the answer and explain
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

The answer is C. -2

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for slope is referred to "rise over run". So in this case you rise 2 over one (2/1) That gives you 2. But since the line is going down is -2

In the data set below, what is the mean absolute deviation?4461526If the answer is a decimal, round it to the nearest tenth.mean
bixtya [17]
I assume that the numbers are: 4,4,6,1,5,2,6
If so, then the MAD is 1.43

To find the MAD, you first find the mean of the list. It is 4.
Then find the absolute difference of each number from the mean.

Those values are: 0,0,2,3,1,2,2
Now find the mean of those numbers and you have about: 1.43
