We have that the initial value of the function is the value at x=0; this is equal to 9. It shows the initial distance from the hole, when no time has passed (x=0). This is so because y has the units of distance. THe slope of the line is the quantity that shows the rate of change, namely how much a change in x is converted to a change in y. This is so because the slope has the units of y/x, namely distance over time (so it shows speed). Correct is b.

Write in simplest form
Gnoma [55]

Find the commomon denominator of 6 and 5.

It's 6 · 5 = 30.

\dfrac{5}{6}=\dfrac{5\cdot5}{6\cdot5}=\dfrac{25}{30}\\\\\dfrac{1}{5}=\dfrac{1\cdot6}{5\cdot6}=\dfrac{6}{30}

\left(\dfrac{5}{6}-\dfrac{1}{5}\right)\div\dfrac{4}{5}=\left(\dfrac{25}{30}-\dfrac{6}{30}\right)\div\dfrac{4}{5}=\dfrac{25-6}{30}\div\dfrac{4}{5}=\dfrac{19}{30}\div\dfrac{4}{5}

Divide by fraction is the same like multiply by reciprocal of this fraction:

=\dfrac{19}{30}\cdot\dfrac{5}{4}=\dfrac{19}{6}\cdot\dfrac{1}{4}=\dfrac{19}{24}

Jacob is a construction worker who earns a yearly Income given by the expression 2000x + 6000, where X is the number of
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

Answer:

The manager's prediction is false

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Jacob: 2000x + 4000

Carlos: 3500x - 40000

Required

Determine if both expression will be the same if x = 35

To do this;

Equate both expressions and then solve for x

i.e.

2000x+4000=3500x-40000

Collect Like Terms

2000x+4000=3500x-40000

-1500x=-44000

Divide both sides by -1500

\frac{-1500}{-1500} = \frac{-44000}{-1500} \\= \frac{-44000}{-1500}\\x= -29.3

Hence, the manager's prediction is not true because x\neq35
