Attribution can be defined as psychological process in which individuals make inferences about the behaviors or actions of others. Thus, it typically involves the process through which an individual try to explain the causes of behavior, actions and events with respect to either being internal or external.

Hence, the statement regarding attributions which isn't true is that, attributions refer to inferences that you make regarding how and when an event or behavior happened.
