Apples: $(2x) per pound

Mathematics

Answer:

Shopper spend $3 on Apples, $4 on Grapes and $3.5 on Oranges

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of one pound of Apple = $2x

Cost of one pound of Grapes = $(6x-5)

Cost of one pound of Oranges = $(x+2)

A shopper purchases one pound each of  apples, grapes, and oranges and spends  $10.50.

It can be written as: 2x+6x-5+x+2=10.50

We need to find how much the shopper spend on each fruit.

First we need to find value of x by solving equation

2x+6x-5+x+2=10.50

Solving:

2x+6x+x+2-5=10.50\\9x-3=10.50\\9x=10.50+3\\9x=13.5\\x=\frac{13.5}{9}\\x=1.5

The value of x is: x=1.5

Now finding cost of one pound each fruit by putting x=1.5

Cost of one pound of Apple = $2x = 2(1.5) = $3

Cost of one pound of Grapes = $(6x-5) = (6(1.5)-5)= $4

Cost of one pound of Oranges = $(x+2)=(1.5+2)=$3.5

So,

Cost of one pound of Apple  = $3

Cost of one pound of Grapes = $4

Cost of one pound of Oranges = $3.5

So, shopper spend $3 on apples, $4 on Grapes and $3.5 on Oranges

Vikki [24]

Answer:

(a) 1/4

(b) answer in explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question, we are told that we have a spinner and the spinner has 12 equal sized sections with three of the sections purple in color. We are now asked to calculate the probability of the spinner landing on the color purple.

Checking, we can see that this is a probability question. The spinner has the options of stopping at 12 different positions but amongst these 12 positions, 3 of the positions are painted purple. We now need to know the probability of the spinner landing on purple.

To get the probability of this, what we simply do is to divide the number of purple options by the total number of outcomes we have. The number of purple options is 3 while the total outcome we have is 12. The probability is thus P(of purple is) = 3/12 = 1/4

(b) we are asked to use words to describe the probability

From the probability in the question, what we can see is that if the spinner is spinner 4 different times, there is a chance that 1 out of all the chances will produce a result where we have the spinner landing on one of the purple color section.

What this actually means is that there is a 25% chance within every spin for the spin to land in the purple color section of the spinner

In the coordinate plane, you are given JKL with J(2, 3), K(10,4), and L(6, 10). Using the distance formula, classify JKL
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

Perimeter of JKL = 22.55 unit (Approx.)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Coordinate of J = (2,3)

Coordinate of K = (10,4)

Coordinate of L = (6,10)

Find:

Perimeter of JKL

Computation:

Distance = √(x1 - x2)² + (y1 - y2)²

Distance between JK = √(2 - 10)² + (3 - 4)²

Distance between JK = √64 + 1

Distance between JK = √65

Distance between JK = 8.06 unit

Distance between KL = √(10 - 6)² + (4 - 10)²

Distance between KL = √16 + 36

Distance between KL = √52

Distance between KL = 7.21 unit

Distance between LJ = √(6 - 2)² + (10 - 3)²

Distance between LJ = √4 + 49

Distance between LJ = √53

Distance between LJ = 7.28 unit

Perimeter of JKL = Distance between JK + Distance between KL + Distance between LJ

Perimeter of JKL = 8.06 + 7.21 + 7.28

Perimeter of JKL = 22.55 unit (Approx.)

8 books cost \$19.60$19.60dollar sign, 19, point, 60.
snow_tiger [21]

Answer: C=[ (10) x (19.60)÷ (8)]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given , The cost of 8 books = $ 19.60

Then, By UNITARY method , the cost of one book = ( Cost of 8 books ) ÷ ( 8)

i.e. The cost of one book = ($19.60) ÷ ( 8) ...(i)

Now , cost of 10 books = (10) x (Cost of one book)

From (i) , we get

Cost of 10 books =$[ (10) x (19.60)÷ (8)]

Let C be the cost of 10 books ( in dollars) .

So , the equation would help determine the cost of 10 :

C=[ (10) x (19.60)÷ (8)]
