Answer:

3y-(-12) = 5(x-(-6)

3y+12= 5(x+6)

3y +12 = 5x + 30

3y = 5x +30 - 12

3y = 5x + 18

y = 5x + 6

Rita gets paid $16 per hour for the first 8 hours she works each day. She earns 1 1 2 times her hourly pay rate for time she wor
omeli [17]
<h3>The total money earned by Rita on Monday   = $158</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

The rate by which  Rita is paid first 8 hours  = $16

The next per hour rate after 8 hours = 1\frac{1}{2} = 1.5 times the usual rate.

Now, 1.5 times $16 = 1.5 x 1 6 =  $24

So, for each hour worked after 8th hour, Rita is paid $24 per hour.

Now, the intervals she has worked are:

(a) from 8:15  to 12: 45 pm

So, the number of hours worked  =  45 minutes + 45 minutes  + 3 hours

= 4 hours 30 minutes  .... (1)   (as 60 minutes = 1 hour)

(b) break of 45 minutes after 12: 45  = 12: 45 + 45 minutes

= 12 hour 90 minutes  = 1 :  30 P M

So, she started working at 1: 30 and worked till 6: 15

So, the number of hours worked  =  30 minutes + 15 minutes  +4 hours

= 4 hours 45 minutes  .... (2)

So, by adding (1) and (2) the total hours worked by Rita

= 4 hours 30 minutes + 4 hours 45 minutes

= 8 hours  75 minutes  = 9 hours 15 minutes

9 hours  15 minutes   = ( 8 +  1 .25 )     ( 15 minutes = 0.25 of an hour)

So, the payment is ( 8 x (16) +  1.25 (24) )

= 128 +  30  = 158

Hence, the total money earned by Rita  = $158

HELP! WILL AWARD BRAINLIEST TO WHOEVER ANSWERS BOTH PARTS CORRECTLY!!
rewona [7]

check the picture below.

now, we're assuming the trapezoid is an isosceles trapezoid, namely AD = BC, and therefore the triangles are twins.

incidentally, b is the height of the trapezoid and likewise is also the altitude or height of the concrete triangle.

so we can simply get the area o the trapezoid, notice the bottom base is a+185+a, and then get the area of the concrete triangle and subtract the triangle from the trapezoid, what's leftover is just the vegetation area.

\bf \begin{cases} a=283\cdot cos(80^o)\\ a\approx 49.14\\ --------\\ b=283\cdot sin(80^o)\\ b\approx 278.70 \end{cases}\\\\ -------------------------------\\\\ \textit{area of a trapezoid}\\\\ A=\cfrac{h(x+y)}{2}~~ \begin{cases} x,y=\stackrel{bases}{parallel~sides}\\ h=height\\ ----------\\ x=185\\ y\approx \stackrel{a+185+a}{283.28}\\ h\approx\stackrel{b}{278.70} \end{cases} \\\\\\ A=\cfrac{278.70(185+283.28)}{2}\implies A\approx 65254.818

so that's the area of the trapezoid, now let's get the area of the triangle.

\bf \stackrel{triangle}{\cfrac{1}{2}(185)(b)}\implies \cfrac{1}{2}(185)(278.70)\qquad \approx 25779.80\\\\ -------------------------------\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{area for vegetation}}{\stackrel{\textit{area of trapezoid}}{65254.818}~~-~~\stackrel{\textit{area of triangle}}{25779.80}}\implies 39475.018

since we know 36 yd² cost 12 bucks, then how much will it be for 39475.018 yd²?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll} yd^2&\$\\ \text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\ 36&12\\ 39475.018&x \end{array}\implies \cfrac{36}{39475.018}=\cfrac{12}{x}\implies x=\cfrac{39475.018\cdot 12}{36} \\\\\\ x\approx 13158.339\overline{3}

Which recursive formula can be used to determine the total amount of money earned for each successive hour worked based on the a
sveticcg [70]

Complete question is;

An electrician earns $110 after his first hour of working for a client. His total pay based on the number of hours worked can be represented using the sequence shown.

110, 130, 150, 170, ...

Which recursive formula can be used to determine the total amount of money earned for each successive hour worked based on the amount of money currently earned?

Answer:

The recursive formula can be expressed as; f(x + 1) = f(x) + 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Electrician earns $110 dollars after working for 1 hour.

We were told his total pay based on number of hours worked can be represented by: 110, 130, 150, 170...

This means that writing it down as a function, we can say;

f(1) = $110, f(2) = $130 e.t.c

Now,since we want to express a recursive formula to explain the question, then let's say after the 1 hour worked, he earned $110, then the hour after that, his total is $130,then the hour after that, his total is $150.

This means that he earns an additional $20 each hour.

Thus;

f(x + 1) = f(x) + 20

Where x is number of hours and f(x) is payment after x number of hours

The recursive formula can be expressed as; f(x + 1) = f(x) + 20

Estimate the sum<br><br>9/50 + 7/15<br>A.0<br>B.1/2<br>C.1
vladimir1956 [14]
9/50 is close to 10/50 or 1/5 or 0.2
7/15 is close to 7/14 or 1/2 or 0.5
0.2 + 0.5 = 0.7
0.7 is closer to 0.5 than 1
The answer would be B
