1. The mole ratio of H2SO4 and H2O in the equation = 3:3

2. The mole ratio of Mg and Mn in the equation = 3:2

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Given

Reaction

1. Fe2O3 + H2SO4 → Fe2(SO4)3 + H2O

2. Mg + Mn2O3 → MgO + Mn.

Required

Balanced equation

Solution

1. Fe₂O₃ + H₂SO₄ → Fe₂(SO₄)₃ + H₂O

  • Give a coefficient

aFe₂O₃ + bH₂SO₄ → Fe₂(SO₄)₃ + cH₂O

  • Make an equation

Fe, left = 2a, right=2⇒2a=2⇒a=1

S, left=b, right=3⇒b=3

H, left = 2b, right = 2c⇒2b=2c⇒2.3=2c⇒c=3

The equation becomes :

<em>Fe₂O₃ + 3H₂SO₄ → Fe₂(SO₄)₃ + 3H₂O</em>

2. Mg + Mn₂O₃ → MgO + Mn.

  • Give a coefficient

aMg + Mn₂O₃ → bMgO + cMn.

  • Make an equation

Mn, left=2, right=c⇒c=2

O₂, left=3, right=b⇒b=3

Mg, left = a, right=b⇒a=b⇒a=3

The equation becomes :

<em>3Mg + Mn₂O₃ → 3MgO + 2Mn.</em>

Which statement describes the location of metalloids on the periodic table? The metalloids are located below metals and above no
Talja [164]
The metalloids are Boron, Silicon, Geranium, etc and are found to the right of the metals and the left of the nonmetals. Since that is not an option, the best choice would be: The metalloids are located below nonmetals and above metals within a group.

Calcium nitrate and ammonium fluoride react to form calcium fluoride, dinitrogen monoxide, and water vapor. How many grams of di
pychu [463]

Answer:

16.79 grams of dinitrogen monoxide are present after 31.3 g of calcium nitrate and 38.7 g of ammonium fluoride react completely. And calcium nitrate is a limiting reactant. Explanation:

Ca(NO_3)_2(aq)+2NH_4F(aq)\rightarrow CaF_2(aq)+2N_2O(g)+4H_2O(g)

Moles of calcium nitrate = \frac{31.3 g}{164 g/mol}=0.1908 mol

Moles of ammonium fluoride = \frac{38.7 g}{37 g/mol}=1.046 mol

According to reaction , 2 moles of ammonium fluoride reacts with 1 mole of calcium nitrate.

Then 1.046 moles of ammonium fluoride will react with :

\frac{1}{2}\times 1.046 mol=0.523 mol calcium nitarte .

This means that ammonium fluoride is in excess amount and calcium nitrate is in limiting amount.

Hence, calcium nitrate is a limiting reactant.

So, amount of dinitrogen monoxide will depend upon moles of calcium nitrate.

So, according to reaction , 1 mole of calcium nitarte gives 2 moles of dinitrogen monoxide gas .

Then 0.1908 moles of calcium nitrate will give:

\frac{2}{1}\times 0.1908 mol=0.3816 molof dinitrogen monoxide gas.

Mass of 0.03816 moles of dinitrogen monoxide gas:

0.03816 mol × 44 g/mol = 16.79 g

16.79 grams of dinitrogen monoxide are present after 31.3 g of calcium nitrate and 38.7 g of ammonium fluoride react completely. And calcium nitrate is a limiting reactant.

The poh of a solution is 9.32. calculate the hydrogen ion concentration of the solution.
natima [27]
PH+pOH=14
pOH=9.32
pH=14-pOH=14-9.32=4.68
pH=4.68

pH=-log[H⁺]
-pH= log[H⁺]

[H^{+}]= 10^{-pH} = 10^{-4.68}=2.09*10^{-5}&#10;&#10;[H^{+}] = 2.09*10^{-5}M
