It takes Ryan 1/5 hour to bike home from school. his biking speed is 10 mph

1/50? I can’t be sure....

Ok, so.. first you write both the problems down and write the 10 as a fraction (so it would automatically be 10/1). Then invert so it would be a multiplication problem (1/5 x 1/10). Since you can’t cross cancel, you multiply across. So, 1/5 x 1/10 (1 x 1 and 10 x 5)

Classify each sequence as arithmetic, geometric, or neither by dragging it into the correct box.
garik1379 [7]

The sequences are classified, respectively, as:

Geometric, Arithmetic, Neither.

<h3>What is a geometric sequence?</h3>

A geometric sequence is a sequence in which the result of the division of consecutive terms is always the same, called common ratio q.

In the first sequence, we have that:

q = \frac{45}{15} = \frac{15}{5} = \frac{5}{\frac{5}{3}} = \frac{\frac{5}{3}}{\frac{5}{9}} = 3

Hence it is a geometric sequence.

<h3>What is an arithmetic sequence?</h3>

In an arithmetic sequence, the difference between consecutive terms is always the same, called common difference d.

In the second sequence, we have that:

d = -4 - 1 = 1 - 6 = 6 - 11 = 11 - 16 = -5

Hence it is an arithmetic sequence.

<h3>What about the third sequence?</h3>

\frac{4}{3} \neq \frac{3}{2}, 1 - \frac{1}{2} \neq 2 - 1

Hence it is neither arithmetic nor geometric.

Lita,Kala, and Rose entered a typing competition. Lita typed 2 times as fast as Kala. The ratio of the number of words Kala type
Jobisdone [24]
If the ratio from Kala to Rose is 4:1, then for the 48 words Rose typed Kala typed 192 words. 48*4=192
Then Lita types twice as fast so 192*2=384.
It should be 384 words.
