At an ocean depth of 10 meters, a buoy bobs up and then down 6 meters from the ocean's depth. Ten seconds pass from the time the

buoy is at its highest point to when it is at its lowest point. Assume at x = 0 the buoy is at normal ocean depth. Use the sine tool to graph the function. The first point must be on the midline and the second point must be a maximum or minimum value on the graph closest to the first point.

The sine function for the given scenario is y  = 6sin ( (π / 10) x )  -  10.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

The standard formula for sine function is Asin(Bx)+C.

A buoy bobs up and down 6 meters. That is the buoy shifts vertically and horizontally  for 6 meters which is amplitude.

∴Amplitude A= 6.

Period is the distance in the x-axis that makes one full oscillation.

We know that the time taken buoy to move from its highest point to lowest point (half oscillation) is 10 seconds.

∴The period for full oscillation is 20 seconds.

Also, Period =2π divided by B.

⇒ 20 (B) = 2π.

B=2π /20.

= π/ 10.

Since the buoy is in the depth of the ocean 10 meters C = -10.

Applying all the values in the formula,

⇒y  = 6sin ( (π/ 10) x )  -  10.

The first point is the mid line,

The first point is x=0,

⇒y=6sin(0)-10.

y= -10.

∴ The line starts at the point y = -10.

The second point is either maximum or minimum value.

That is (5,-4) and (15, -16.)

A cylindrical roller 2.5 m in length, 1.5 m in radius when rolled on a road was found to cover the area of 16500 m2 . How many r
eduard

Answer:

701 revolutions

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Length= 2.5 m

            Radius= 1.5 m

            Area covered by roller= 16500 m²

Now, finding the Lateral surface area of cylinder to know area covered by roller in one revolution of cylindrical roller.

Remember; Lateral surface area of an object is the measurement of the area of all sides excluding area of base and its top.

Formula; Lateral surface area of cylinder= 2\pi rh

Considering, π= 3.14

⇒ lateral surface area of cylinder= 2\times 3.14\times 1.5\times 2.5

⇒ lateral surface area of cylinder= 23.55 \ m^{2}

∴ Area covered by cylindrical roller in one revolution is 23.55 m²

Next finding total number of revolution to cover 16500 m² area.

Total number of revolution= \frac{16500}{23.55} = 700.6369 \approx 701

Hence, Cyindrical roller make 701 revolution to cover 16500 m² area.

Find the missing side and round to the nearest tenth
xxMikexx [17]
In this problem you use cosine because you know the hypotenuse and you want to know the adjacent side of the triangle. So in your calculator you would input cos(52). Then you would multiply that answer with the hypotenuse side. So your equation would be this:  cos(52) x 13

Answer:

  A

Step-by-step explanation:

The Pythagorean triple (8, 15, 17) is often seen in algebra and geometry problems. You recognize it as choice A, so you know that is a right triangle.

__

A spreadsheet or graphing calculator can perform the tedium of comparing the sum of squares of the shorter sides to the square of the longer side. The attachment shows a spreadsheet used for that purpose. It identifies the triple (8, 15, 17) as the sides of a right triangle.

The center of a circle is at the origin. and endpoint of a diameter of the circle is at (-3, -4. how long is the diameter of the
Aleks [24]
The diameter is 10:

To do this we must use the distance formula:

Distance =√(x2−x1)^2+(y2−y1)^2

So, if we substitute in our values for the origin and endpoint (origin is 1 values, endpoint is 2)

D=✓(-4-0)^2+(-3-0)^2

Simplified, this is

D=✓16+9
D=✓25
D=5

so, the distance from the center of the crcle to the endpoint is 5 (making the radius)

multiply by two, and the diameter of the circle is 10 :)
