I’m confused if someone can explain 15points

Mathematics

It should be 7.5

If i’m doing the math correctly it should work like PEMDAS. i did the (2.4+5.1) and got 7.5

If you have to completely answer the problem you will do the 6 squared which would equal 36. 36+7.5+3.5=47.

2(12 - y) = 23- (2y - 1) is there a solution for this?
natali 33 [55]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Short Answer: No

2(12 - y) = 23- (2y - 1)                    Remove the Brackets on both sides

24 - 2y = 23 - 2y + 1                     Combine like terms on the right

24 - 2y = 24 - 2y                          No matter what you do, the 2ys are going to cancel. When they do, the question goes with them.

You get 24 = 24 Which is true but not relevant.

The other answer you could use is there are an infinite number of answers.

Equality will be maintained, but there is no single answer that works.

Find the first three terms of the arithmetic series described. n= 16 aₙ= 15 sₙ= -120.
creativ13 [48]

Answer:

The first three terms are -30, -27 and -24

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for nth term of a arithmetic series is given by:

aₙ = a₁ + (n - 1)d

Substitute n = 16 in the given equation:

a₁₆ = a₁ + (16 - 1)d

Where aₙ = a₁₆ = 15. Substitute in the given equation

15 = a₁ + 15d ⇒ Equation (i)

Sum of arithmetic sequence is given by:

Sₙ = n(a₁ + aₙ) / 2

Substitute n = 16 in the above equation:

S₁₆ = 16(a₁ + a₁₆) / 2

Where S₁₆= -120 and a₁₆=15, substitute:

-120 = 16(a₁ + 15)/2

-240 = 16(a₁ +15)

-15 = a₁ + 15

a₁ = -30

Substitute it in Equation (i)

15 = a₁ + 15d

15 = -30 + 15d

15d = 15+30

d = 45/15

d = 3

So

a₁ = -30

a₂ = a₁ + (2-1)d

a₂ = -30 + 3

a₂ = -27

a₃ = a₁ + (3-1)d

a₃ = a₁ + 2d

a₃ = -30 + 2(3)

a₃ = -30 +6

a₃ = -24

Could 4.1 cm, 8.4 cm and 1.3 cm be the side lengths of a triangle? A Yes B No
oee [108]
No, the three given side lengths could not make a triangle.

8.4 cm is greater than 4.1 cm and 1.3 cm combined, so no matter what angle is between the two shorter sides, it is impossible to fit the 8.4 cm side.
