In 1859, Charles Darwin proposed that differential survival and reduction of individuals would produce changes in species popula

tion over time. In other words, the environment acting on variation of individuals within a population would result in an adaptation (an evolutionary process that results in morphological, physiological or behavioral changes at the population level and that increases the probability of the members of that population to survive and their reproductive success). Using a specific example, explain how natural selection explains the theory of evolution. Also include in your explanation and within your example, what are the 4 factors needed for natural selection to act

Answer:

Reproduction, heredity, variation in fitness or organisms.

Explanation:

Evolution occurs in organisms due to natural selection process because natural resources are limited. Evolution is the change in the characteristics of a species over several generations. If evolution occurs in the organisms so these evoluted organisms can survive rate more than those organisms where no evolution occurs because the evoluted organisms can adopt successfully the features of environment. Reproduction, heredity, variation in fitness or organisms are the four factors needed for natural selection to act.

Eukaryotic mrnas frequently have multiple 'additional' in-frame stop codon present after the first stop codon. what, if any, fun
kipiarov [429]

Well, it is possible that those stop codons have dual functions. They can act as stop signals or, on the other hand, they can be used to incorporate amino acids.

Other explanation is that multiple stop codons may reduce the rate of nonsense mutation.

Crocodiles that ignore birds cleaning their teeth instead of eating them is an example of __________.
Anettt [7]

Option (B) Habituation is the right answer.

Crocodiles that ignore birds cleaning their teeth instead of eating them is an example of habituation.

Crocodile and avian mutualism—is it real?

 • One of nature's best instances of mutualism is the interaction between a Nile crocodile and an Egyptian plover bird.
 • A crocodile will simply open his mouth and wait when he needs to floss.
 • The plover bird will involuntarily swoop down and grab meat scraps from the crocodile's gaping jaws.

Why do crocodiles develop a habit of approaching the birds that brush their teeth?

 • It is a phenomenon of evolution that when a bird used to sit in a crocodile's mouth, the crocodile didn't eat it; instead, the crocodile used to allow the bird to sit in the mouth and clean the crocodile's teeth so that they can live longer, whereas the birds could get the free food from the crocodile's mouth.
 • It is an illustration of how the two are mutually beneficial.
 • The same is true now because crocodiles have adapted to the fact that birds will clean their teeth, so rather than consuming them, they ignore the birds.
