Answer:

1) incorrect

2) incorrect

3) correct

4) correct

5) correct

6) incorrect

Explanation:

The correct electronic configuration of chromium is; [Ar] 3d⁵ 4s¹

The correct electronic configuration for Zr is; [Kr] 4d² 5s²

The correct electronic configuration of Cu^+ is; [Ar] 3d¹⁰

The electronic configuration of an atom refers to the arrangement of electrons in the atoms of such element.

The appropriate number of electrons and its properly written electronic configuration is clearly shown in this answer.

The pH of a Ba(OH) 2 solution is 10.00. What is the H+ ion concentration of this solution?
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

Option D. 1×10¯¹⁰ M

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

pH = 10

Hydrogen ion concentration, [H+] =?

The hydrogen ion concentration, [H+] of the Ba(OH)2 solution can be obtained as follow:

pH = – Log [H+]

pH = 10

10 = – Log [H+]

Divide both side by – 1

– 10 = Log [H+]

Take the antilog of – 10

[H+] = antilog (– 10)

[H+] = 1×10¯¹⁰ M

Therefore, the hydrogen ion concentration, [H+] of the Ba(OH)2 solution is 1×10¯¹⁰ M

Why is acetic acid written as hc2h3o2 rather than c2h4o2?
Naddik [55]
Acetic acid is under the family of carboxylic acids which has a carboxyl group –COOH bond attached to the alkyl group. Alkyl group can be methyl (CH3-), ethyl (CH3CH2-) and so on. The term acetic also means methyl. So combining the two gives CH3COOH or HCH3CO2. The H before the C in HCH3CO2 means that it is the H attached to the O in the carboxyl group –COOH. You cannot write it as C2H4O2 because it would represent a different compound.

Describe the trend in electronegativity of the elements ?
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

On the periodic table, electronegativity generally increases as you move from left to right across a period and decreases as you move down a group. As a result, the most electronegative elements are found on the top right of the periodic table, while the least electronegative elements are found on the bottom left.
