Answer:

x = 2

y = 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

3x - 2y = 5

x + 2y = 3

We don't have to mutiply anything because we have values that we can eliminate.-2y and 2y can be crossed off becuase they have the same value and plus and minus cancel out. We can add instead of changing the signs.

4x = 8

x = 2

Now we know that x = 2. To find y we have to plug in x into one of the equations. I am going to use x + 2y = 3.

2 + 2y = 3

2y = 1

y = 1/2

Now we figured out y. I hope I helped!

noname [10]

Answer:

287.1 inches of the canvas.

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this, we need to first figure out the total area of the canvas. To do that, multiply width by height.

29*33=957

Now set up your equation for solving for the area of the canvas that the rose covers.

x/957=30/100

We did it where: x is the area of the rose covers, 957 is the amount of inches that the canvas takes up, and the right side of the equation is the percent.

Now cross multiply.

100x=28,710

Now divide both sides by 100.

x=287.1

The red rose covers 287.1 inches of the canvas.

William and Debra Pierce are celebrating their 20th anniversary by having a reception at a local reception hall. They have budge
erica [24]

The greatest number of people that William and Debra may invite and still stay within their budget is 63.

What is an equation?

An equation is formed when two equal expressions are equated together with the help of an equal sign '='.

Since William and Debra have budgeted $2,500 for their reception. Therefore, their total expenses should be equal to the total expenses in the reception.

Budget = Total expenses

Budget = Reception hall Cleanup charge + $38 per person fee

Let the number of people invited to the party be represented by x,

$2,500 = $100 + $38(x)

2500 = 100 + 38x

2500 - 100 = 38x

2400 = 38x

x = 2400 / 38

x = 63.157 ≈ 63

Hence, the greatest number of people that William and Debra may invite and still stay within their budget is 63.
