Answer:

2.04m/s²

Explanation:

Complete Question

A stationary 10 kg object is located on a table near the surface of the earth. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the surfaces is 0.2. A horizontal force of 40 N is applied to the object. Find the acceleration of the object.

According to Newtons second law;

\sum F_x = ma_x

F_m - F_f = ma_x

Fm is the applied force

Ff is the frictional force

m is the mass

a is the acceleration

Substitute the given values

40N - nmg = 10a

40 - 0.2(10)(9.8) = 10a

40 - 19.6 = 10a

20.4 = 10a

a = 20.4/10

a = 2.04m/s²

Hence the acceleration of the object is 2.04m/s²

A 5000kg car traveling at 40m/s crashes into a wall and comes to a complete stop in 10ms. What was the force on the wall?
Kisachek [45]

Answer:

20,000,000 N

Explanation:

First find the acceleration:

a = Δv / Δt

a = (0 − 40 m/s) / 0.010 s

a = -4000 m/s²

Next use Newton's second law to find the force on the car:

F = ma

F = (5000 kg) (-4000 m/s²)

F = -20,000,000 N

According to Newton's third law, the force on the wall is equal and opposite the force on the car.

F = 20,000,000 N

marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

Explanation:

1 ) the volume of helium in the balloon when fully inflated

= 4/3 π R³

= 4/3 x 3.14 x 5.3³

= 623.3 m³

2 ) force of gravity on the entire system ,but with no people

= (mass of the empty balloon and basket + mass of helium )x g

=( 129 + 623.3 x.18 )x 9.8

= 2363.7 N

3 ) magnitude of the buoyant force on the entire system (but with no people )

( Volume of empty balloon + basket + volume of helium ) density of air x g

( 0.057 + 623.3 ) x 1.23 x 9.8

= 7513.94 N

4 ) magnitude of the force of gravity on each person

Mass of each person x g

= 71 x 9.8

= 695.8 N

Is burning paper physics chemistry or biology
stellarik [79]

The tearing of paper is physical as it's still paper even when you tear it. A chemical reaction is when the substance is chemically change. ... When paper is burn, the cellulose in the air reacts with the oxygen to form carbon dioxide and water.

Therefore it's chemistry.
