Answer:

The change in the mechanical energy of the projectile is 43,750 J

Explanation:

Given;

mass of the projectile, m = 5 kg

initial velocity of the projectile, u = 200 m/s

final velocity of the projectile, v = 150 m/s

The change in mechanical energy is calculated from the principle of conservation of energy;

ΔP.E = ΔK.E

The change in potential energy is zero (0)

0 = ΔK.E

ΔK.E = K.E₁ - K.E₂

ΔK.E = ¹/₂mu² - ¹/₂mv²

ΔK.E = ¹/₂m(u² - v²)

ΔK.E = ¹/₂ x 5(200² - 150²)

ΔK.E =  43,750 J

Therefore, the change in the mechanical energy of the projectile is 43,750 J

A point charge Q is held at a distance r from the center of a dipole that consists of two charges ±q separated by a distance s.
marishachu [46]

Answer:

a) the magnitude of the force is

F= Q(\frac{kqs}{r^3}) and where k = 1/4πε₀

F = Qqs/4πε₀r³

b)  the magnitude of the torque on the dipole

τ = Qqs/4πε₀r²

Explanation:

from coulomb's law

E = \frac{kq}{r^{2} }

where k = 1/4πε₀

the expression of the electric field due to dipole at a distance r is

E(r) = \frac{kp}{r^{3} } , where p = q × s

E(r) = \frac{kqs}{r^{3} } where r>>s

a) find the magnitude of force due to the dipole

F=QE

F= Q(\frac{kqs}{r^3})

where k = 1/4πε₀

F = Qqs/4πε₀r³

b) b) magnitude of the torque(τ) on the dipole is dependent on the perpendicular forces

τ = F sinθ × s

θ = 90°

note: sin90° = 1

τ = F × r

recall  F = Qqs/4πε₀r³

∴ τ = (Qqs/4πε₀r³) × r

τ = Qqs/4πε₀r²

While an emf source supplies energy to a circuit, that energy is dissipated when the current passes through resistance. In deali
fredd [130]

The question is incomplete, the options are;

RI^2

I^2/R

R/I^2

R/V^2

RV^2

V^2/R

VI

VIR

Select all that apply

Answer:

P=RI^2

P=V^2/R

P=VI

Explanation:

Power is the rate at which energy is changing in a circuit. It is shown by the formulas outlined above from the group of answer choices. Since the current (I), voltage (V), and resistance (R) were mentioned in the question, any of three three formulas could be used to obtain the power drawn by the conductor.

what volume of alcohol will have the same mass as 4.2m^3 of petrol? (density of alcohol 0.4kg/m^3 and petrol is 0.3kg/m^3)
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

3.15m³

Explanation:

To solve this problem, let us first find the mass of the petrol from the given dimension.

       Mass  = density x volume

Volume of petrol  = 4.2m³

Density of petrol  = 0.3kgm⁻³

       Mass of petrol  = 4.2 x 0.3  = 1.26kg

So;

      We can now find the volume of the alcohol

 Volume of alcohol = \frac{mass}{density}

Mass of alcohol  = 1.26kg

Density of alcohol  = 0.4kgm⁻³

  Volume of alcohol  = \frac{1.26}{0.4}   = 3.15m³

Why do you think a clothes dryer requires a 220-volt outlet, while a toaster only requires a 110-volt outlet?
hammer [34]

A toaster needs a 110-volt outlet because it doesn’t need too much electricity.  Electricity can be converted to heat, and toaster only needs to be heated and nothing else that requires extra electricity while clothes dyer requires higher voltage because it needs more effort and electricity in order to do its function.
