I would say no because a simile is having something referred to something else for example as brace as a lion or crazy like a fox.
In one understanding, each of them have a verb phrase, as a verb phrase can involve a verb and it's dependencies so all of them have a verb phrase:
A. The crowd roared as the bull charged.
B. June was a collector of memorabilia.
C. I shall be all that I am and more.
D. I believed every word he said.

Sometimes, a verb phrase is seen in a very strict sense; a s verb and parts, such as auxiliary verbs. Then the correct answer is

C. I shall be all that I am and more.
Then the correct answer is "shall be" - C

They are trying to bring about an emotional response.

Both B and D are correct forms - the last comma is optional.
I would use probably use a comma here because the brothers' tasks are so diverse. However, I am not forced to use it - it is optional.
I would not use it here:
I am considering a HP, Dell and Lenovo as possibilities for my next computer.
(Because they are not diverse - they are all brands of computers).
What's wrong with A - It sound as if your brothers dropped the dishes as they took them out of the dishwasher and had to clean up all those broken washed dishes.
C is wrong because of the unecessary common after the "and".
6. My parents (are going to a concert tonight).
7. The bus driver (is not driving carefully).
8. (Are) the pupils (decorating) the room at the moment?
10. They (are having) salesin all the big stores now.
The Bus
The bus (is coming). The passengers (are sitting) down. One woman (is giving) the driver the money. An old man (is reading) his newspaper. The young boy (is ringing) the bell. Two children (are running) for the bus. The bus (is stopping) and people (are getting) off of it.
Spring is Here
It is the beginning of spring. I can see through the window that it (is raining). The sun (is shining) and some flowers (are blooming). My brothers (are listening) to music and they (are discussing) the weather. Seems that the winter is over and there is so much to look forward to. A small dog outside (is running) and (barking) happily. He is (playing). I think that the best thing about spring is knowing that summer is just around the corner.
