Did he go to school?
No. Douglass learned to read as a child in slavery, taught first by Sophia Auld, the wife of slave owner Hugh Auld.
Did he go to college?
No. Frederick Douglass (1818-1895), while a brilliant man, never attended college.
Some countries didn't have stuff that other countries had, so they used to trade to grow their community and for their people to survive. Trading was important to have all their goods they wanted.
