Answer:

(5/3,-5/6) or (1.67, -0.83)

Explanation:

the center if there are 4 bricks is the point 0,0 or intersection of the two arrow.

if we remove one on the top left, with the center of the mass in (-5,2.5), the the new coordinates of the center of mass can be found like this

x = A1 x1 - A2 x2 / (A1 - A2)

x = new coordinate of the system

A1 is the Area of 4 bricks = 20 x 10 = 200 cm²

A2 is the Area of 1 brick we remove, the top left = 10 x 5 = 50 cm²

x1 = the x coordinate of the center of mass when there are 4 bricks, x = 0

x2 = the x coordinate of the center of mass of the remove brick, x = -5

x = (200 . 0) - (50 . (-5))/(200 - 50)

x = - (-250) / 150

x = 250/150 = 5/3 = 1.67 cm

we can find the value y of the new coordinate, the same way we find x

y = A1 y1 - A2 y2 / (A1 - A2)

y = (200 . 0) - (50 . 2.5) / (200-50)

y = - 125/150

y = -5/6 = -0.83 cm

Find the magnitude of the angular momentum of the second hand on a clock about an axis through the center of the clock face. Ass
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

L = 4.711 *10^{-6} kg m2/s

Explanation:

i =\frac{ml^3}{3}

= \frac{0.00*.15^2}{3}

   =4.5*10^-5

angular velocity

\omega = \frac{2\pi}{60}

             = 0.1047 rad/s

the angular momentum,

L = I\omega

L = 4.5*10^{-5}* 0.1047 rad/s

L = 4.711 *10^{-6} kg m2/s

Which of the following statements are true for electric field lines? Check all that apply. Check all that apply. Electric field
Scilla [17]

Answer:

Electric field lines point away from positive charges and toward negative charges. True

Electric field lines are continuous; they do not have a beginning or an ending. False

Electric field lines can never intersect. True

Electric field lines are close together in regions of space where the magnitude the electric field is weak and are father apart where it is strong. False

At every point in space, the electric field vector at that point is tangent to the electric field line through that point. True

Explanation:

Electric field lines point away from positive charges and toward negative charges. Always the field lines go to negative charges and leave from positive charges.

Electric field lines are continuous; they do not have a beginning or an ending. False

Because the field lines starts at positive charges and ends in negative charges.

Electric field lines can never intersect. True

It can not intercept the field lines because in that point the the field would have two directions. Besides, in that point the real value of the field should be found adding both field lines.

Electric field lines are close together in regions of space where the magnitude the electric field is weak and are father apart where it is strong. False

This fact is opposite to that so the regions of space where the magnitude the electric field is weak the lines are father apart and where the field is strong the lines are close together.

At every point in space, the electric field vector at that point is tangent to the electric field line through that point. True

This statement correspond to the definition of the field line.

A scientist reports a measurement of the temperature of the surface of a newly discovered planet is -20 K. What conclusion can y
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

Option B. The planet is a very way from the center or the Sun.

Explanation:

If the surface temperature of the newly formed planet is - 20 K that means the distance of the planet from the sun in greater.

If we look at the temperature trends of the planets in our solar system, the planets closer to the sun like Mercury, Venus have very high surface temperature but as we move move away from the the center of the solar system, i.e., Sun, the temperature goes on decreasing.
