First you have 2 triangles and 3 rectangles so you will get the area of 5 of them

for the first face of rectangle
2.5x10=25

second face
2x10=20

for the third rectangle which is the base
10x1.5=15

for the two triangles

1/2xBasexHeight
1/2x1.5x2=1.5 ——> this is for one triangle so multiply by 2 to get both triangles
1.5x2=3

so the total surface area is equal to 3+25+20+15=63

Barb is going to cover a rectangle area 8 feet by 10 feet with rectangle paving blocks that are 4 inches by 8 inches by 2 inches
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Step-by-step explanation:

First, transform 8 feet and 10 feet into inches so we can work with the same measurements

8 * 12 = 96 in

10 * 12 = 120 in

Next find the patio rectangle area.

96 * 120 = 11520 in^2

Now find the paving block area

4 * 8 = 32 in^2

Now, find out how many paving blocks will go into the patio rectangle area.

11520 / 32 = 360

The minimum number is 360 paving blocks

What is the width of a rectangle with length 14cm and area 161 cm^2
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a rectangle can be found with the formula A = l*w, where l is the length of the rectangle and w is the width.

From the given problem statement, we know that l = 14 and A = 161, so we can fill in those values in the formula anbd solve for w to get the width:

A = l*w

161 = 14w

Divide both sides by 14 to isolate w by itself:

\frac{161}{14} = \frac{14w}{14}

w = 11.5
